Nokia: wins 5G contract in Finland

(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Nokia announced that it has been selected by Finnish Shared Network Ltd (SYV) to supply and deploy 5G network equipment and managed services in Northern and Eastern Finland.


The network's redesign will enable SYV to sustain its infrastructure for the next generation of digital services, while enhancing current 2G, 3G and 4G capabilities. SYV will then be able to offer advanced 5G services in a cost-effective manner.

Nokia will be responsible for upgrading the network infrastructure, providing field maintenance, network monitoring and implementation services in over half of Eastern and Northern Finland.

The deployment of this brand new infrastructure will start in early 2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
