E.ON: to suspend advertising on Facebook

ON said on Thursday that it will suspend advertising and postings on Facebook and Instagram "until further notice" as pressure mounts on the social media platform's action to remove hate speech comments.

The energy company said it wants "to take a stand" against discrimination and intolerance.

"At E.ON, we act in line with essential values, such as respect, diversity and tolerance," the group said. "We expressly and resolutely oppose racism, hate speech and discrimination," it added.

"We also expect this clear attitude from our partners," E.ON pointed out.
