Bayer: partnership in precision healthcare

(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer announced on Tuesday that it had signed a strategic partnership with Californian start-up Hurdle in the field of personalized healthcare for the elderly.


Under the terms of the agreement, the German chemical and pharmaceutical group will integrate the epigenetic biomarker technology developed by Hurdle with its expertise and commercial footprint in consumer healthcare products.

In detail, Bayer plans to distribute Hurdle's analysis kits, which use a saliva sample to calculate a patient's biological age, via its e-commerce channels.

This announcement comes at a time when Bayer launched a division entirely dedicated to precision health last May.
