Bayer: partnership with Hurdle in precision healthcare

(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer announced Tuesday that it has signed a strategic partnership with California-based start-up Hurdle in the field of personalized healthcare for the elderly.


Under the terms of the agreement, the German chemical and pharmaceutical group will integrate the epigenetic biomarker technology developed by Hurdle with its know-how and commercial footprint in consumer healthcare products.

In detail, Bayer plans to distribute Hurdle's analysis kits, which are based on a saliva sample to calculate the biological age of patients, via its e-commerce channels.

This announcement comes at a time when Bayer launched a division entirely dedicated to precision health last May.
