Bayer: FDA approves Lampit for children

(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer has announced that the US FDA has approved Lampit (nifurtimox) for the treatment of Chagas disease in children.


The use of this medicine is in pediatric patients (from birth to less than 18 years of age who weigh at least 2.5 kg) for the treatment of Chagas disease.

The medicine is specially designed to disolve in water, which may facilitate dosing and administration to paediatric patients who may have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Chagas is an infectious tropical disease that affects about 300,000 people in the United States.
