Rio Tinto: invests $1.8bn in Australian mining project
(CercleFinance.com) - Rio Tinto has announced a $1.
8bn investment to develop the Brockman Syncline 1 (BS1) mining project in the Brockman region of Western Australia. The project, now approved by the authorities, will support the company's iron ore production. The project will have a processing capacity of 34 million tonnes per year and is scheduled to start production in 2027. Construction starts this year, with the creation of 1,000 temporary and 600 permanent jobs.
