Volkswagen: EU approves Audi's takeover of Sauber F1 Team
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved the acquisition of joint control of the Swiss Formula 1 racing team 'Sauber Holding' by Germany's AUDI Aktiengesellschaft - a member of the VW Group - and Qatar Holding, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority.
The transaction mainly concerns the market for services related to the management of a Formula 1 team. The Commission has concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given Sauber's negligible activities in the European Economic Area and the companies' limited market positions resulting from the proposed transaction.
