Quadient: extendz partnership with Japan Post
(CercleFinance.com) - Quadient last night announced an extension of the existing partnership between its Japanese joint venture Packcity and postal operator Japan Post.
Under the terms of the agreement, consumers will now be able not only to receive Japan Post deliveries in Packcity's network of automated parcel lockers, but also to send parcels from these same lockers.
The partnership is designed to increase the volume of parcels handled via an open network and to consolidate parcel collection at a single point, contributing to more efficient and environmentally-friendly operations, Quadient explains.
Through Packcity Japan, its joint venture with Yamato Transport, the French group operates around 7,000 automatic lockers in Japan, making it the country's leading open locker network.
Japan Post, for its part, operates over 24,200 post offices across the country and employs more than 171,800 people.
