Carmat: fundraising completed, with a 29% discount

(CercleFinance.com) - Carmat announced on Friday that it had raised 9.
7 million euros in its new capital increase, slightly less than what the group was seeking.

The manufacturer of the Aeson artificial heart said that 8.6 million euros had been subscribed by specialized investors and 1.1 million by individual investors via the PrimaryBid platform.

The company had announced yesterday that it expected to raise ten million euros.

This is the second fund-raising round concluded by the company in less than four months.

In a press release, Carmat specifies that the operation will only partially finance its needs for the next 12 months, stating that it still needs to raise between 30 and 35 million euros.

The proceeds from the latest fund-raising will nevertheless enable the company to maintain its operations until mid-May 2025.

The new shares, representing around 28% of the capital before the fund-raising, were issued at a price of 0.77 per share, representing a significant discount of 29% to Wednesday's share price.

On the Paris Bourse, Carmat's share price fell by more than 25% on Friday morning following these announcements, marking by far the biggest drop on the Paris market at the start of the session.
