Equinor increases its stake in Ørsted to 10%.
(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor announced on Monday that it had increased its stake in Ørsted to 10%, two and a half months after acquiring a 9.
8% stake in the Danish offshore wind specialist.
As planned in October when it took a minority stake, the Norwegian energy company has acquired a further 840.764 additional Ørsted shares, representing 0.2% of the share capital.
In a press release, Equinor states that it has purchased the shares on the basis of a unit price of DKK 398.5, for a total consideration of $2.3 billion.
Ørsted designs, builds and operates offshore and onshore wind farms, solar power plants, energy storage facilities, renewable hydrogen and green fuels production facilities and bioenergy plants.
The company, which employs 8,400 people, generated sales of $10.6 billion last year.
