Novartis: positive long-term data in leukemia
(CercleFinance.com) - Novartis reports positive longer-term results from the pivotal phase III ASC4FIRST trial with Scemblix in adults with newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia.
At week 96, Scemblix demonstrated a superior and sustained major molecular response compared to all selected TKIs (74.1% vs. 52%) and imatinib alone (76.2% vs. 47.1%), meeting both key secondary endpoints.
The data also indicated a favorable safety and tolerability profile for Scemblix compared to imatinib and second-generation TKIs. These results were presented at the ASH meeting in San Diego, 7-10 December.
