Ford: US sales up slightly in September

7% increase in new vehicle sales in September in the US, mainly driven by deliveries of hybrids and pick-ups.

While sales of internal combustion engine cars fell by 2.8% to 432,429, sales of electric vehicles rose by 12.2% y-o-y, although they still only accounted for 23.509 models sold over the month.
In the hybrid segment, sales climbed 38% to 48,101 units.
In terms of categories, SUV sales fell by 5.6% to 202,988, while pick-up sales rose by 6% to 292,010, largely thanks to the success of the Ranger.
At around 9:40 a.m. (New York time), Ford shares were down over 2.4%, while the S&P 500 was down 0.6% at the same time.
For the first nine months of the year, sales in the US were up 2.7% to nearly 1.55 million units.
