Danone: partnership with Zoetis in bovine genetics
(CercleFinance.com) - The US animal health group Zoetis announced on Thursday that it has signed a strategic partnership with Danone to protect the health of dairy cows.
Under the terms of the agreement, the French food group will use genetic tests developed by Zoetis to analyse the productivity and longevity of its cattle, amongst other things.
Last year, Zoetis joined Danone's 'Partner for Growth' (P4G) program as a preferred supplier of genomic tests.
The aim is to enable dairy farms to rely on sustainable bovine genetics to optimise milk production and herd size, while strengthening the animals' resilience to disease.
