USA: durable goods orders stable in August

(CercleFinance.com) - After climbing by 9.
9% in July compared with the previous month (a figure confirmed in relation to the initial estimate), US durable goods orders stagnated in August, according to the Commerce Department.

However, excluding the usually erratic transportation sector, US durable goods orders rose by 0.5% last month on a sequential basis.

Meanwhile, shipments of durable goods by US industry fell by 0.5% month-on-month, led by the transportation sector, which contracted by 1.9%.
