USA: business inventories up 0.4% in July

(CercleFinance.com) - US business inventories rose by 0.
4% in July, suggesting that the rebuilding of corporate inventories is supporting economic growth.

The Commerce Department reported on Tuesday that inventories reached $2,575 billion in July, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 2.5%.

Given that business sales rose by 1.1% to $1,880.7 billion in July, the inventory-to-sales ratio - which measures the time it takes to clear stocked goods - stood at 1.37, unchanged from July 2023.
