Alstom: Ambassador visits Cairo construction site

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that the British Ambassador to Egypt, Gareth Bayley, recently visited the new Cairo monorail project, manufactured in the UK.


During his visit, he had the opportunity to test ride an Innovia 300 trainset and explore Alstom's facilities with Egyptian officials, including the Deputy Minister of Transport.

The £2.3bn project involves the assembly of 272 cars in Derby, marking the first export of British rolling stock since 2008.

The monorail aims to boost sustainable mobility in Egypt and has supported hundreds of UK jobs, all on time and on budget.
