Bp: agreement with Palantir for new AI capabilities

(CercleFinance.com) - Palantir Technologies and bp have announced a 5-year agreement that will enable the use of new artificial intelligence capabilities with Palantir's AIP software.


Since 2014, Palantir software has been widely deployed by bp to support its oil and gas production operations, from offshore oil platforms in the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico, to the Khazzan gas fields in Oman.

Over the past decade, it has supported bp's digital transformation program, focusing on the efficiency of the oil and gas production system', says the group.

The agreement now covers Palantir's AIP software utlisation, which will help bp to safely and reliably exploit large language models (LLMs) to improve and accelerate human decision-making.

Sunjay Pandey, SVP digital delivery, bp, said: 'Using advanced digital twin simulations helps us to safely monitor and optimize various aspects of the production process to improve operational performance'.
