Eni: agreements with Azerbaijan ahead of COP29

(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces that it has signed three memorandums of understanding with Azerbaijan's national energy company, SOCAR, covering energy security, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the production of biofuels.


The first agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in hydrocarbon exploration and production to secure energy supplies for Europe, particularly Italy.

The second provides for initiatives to reduce gas emissions and improve energy efficiency in Azerbaijan.

The third explores the possibility of developing biofuel production projects.

These agreements are part of Eni's decarbonization strategy in the run-up to COP29, to be held in Azerbaijan in 2024.
