SSE: takes its first steps in onshore wind power in France

(CercleFinance.com) - SSE announces that it has taken a major step forward with the installation of its first wind turbine in France, at the Chaintrix-Bierges et Vélye site in the Grand-Est region.


This 28 MW wind farm project marks SSE's first foray into onshore wind power in France, following its activities in the UK and Ireland.

In collaboration with Siemens Gamesa, SSE will install eight SG 3.4-132 MW turbines, with a total investment of over 30 million euros.

The park, which will support around 80 local jobs during construction, will generate enough renewable energy for 14,000 homes a year and help reduce carbon emissions.
