BT: collaboration with Edgio on content delivery

(CercleFinance.com) - BT group is collaborating with Edgio to integrate their CDN (Content Delivery Network) into the MAUD (Multicast-Assisted Unicast Delivery, a technology developed by BT Group to enhance the delivery of live content over the Internet) technology solution.


This collaboration marks the first live deployment of MAUD, transforming the technology into a real application.

MAUD uses multicasting to efficiently deliver live streams over the Internet, improving the reliability and quality of streaming.

MAUD-enabled CDNs, such as Edgio's, will offer high-quality delivery while reducing costs and energy consumption, without requiring any modifications for content providers.
