Shell to use waterflood technology in Vito field

(CercleFinance.com) - Shell has announced that its Shell Offshore subsidiary is to invest in waterflood technology for its Vito field in the Gulf of Mexico.


Scheduled for completion by 2027, this project will involve injecting water into the field's reservoir to extract more oil, thereby increasing production capacity.

Zoë Yujnovich, Director at Shell, points out that 'this method will enable the production of high-margin, low-carbon barrels'.
