Ryanair: over 20 million passengers at Cork
(CercleFinance.com) - Ryanair has celebrated more than 20 million passengers at Cork Airport in Ireland since it began flying to and from Cork in 1987.
Ryanair was the first low-cost airline to operate at Cork Airport and has grown from a single route to/from London Luton to a 33-flight operation linking 9 countries across Europe, supported by Ryanair's 4 Cork-based aircraft.
This summer, Ryanair is operating its biggest ever schedule at Cork Airport with nearly 300 weekly flights on 33 routes, including 5 new routes to Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Rhodes and Zadar.
Jade Kirwan, Ryanair's Head of Communications, said: 'We are proud to mark this milestone of over 20 million passengers through Cork Airport. This milestone is testament to Ryanair's continued growth and investment in Cork Airport - an investment of over $400 million, as well as supporting over 120 high-paying aviation jobs and over 1,700 local jobs at Cork Airport'.
