Rolls-Royce: sells engine business < 480 kW to Deutz AG

(CercleFinance.com) - Rolls-Royce announces that it has finalized the sale of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG's lower-end engine business to Deutz AG.

The sale follows the announcement of an agreement in principle on December 13, 2023, and the selling price is "in the high millions of euros", according to the British engine manufacturer.

"We are handing over a good company, an excellent customer base and a strong team", emphasizes Joerg Stratmann, Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Power Systems.

As a result of the transaction, Deutz will take over distribution of the mtu Classic series in the lower power range and the mtu 1000 to 1500 engine series, which are based on three Daimler Truck engine platforms.

These engines range in displacement from 5 to 16 liters, with power ratings up to 480 kW, and are used in a variety of off-highway applications, mainly in agriculture and construction.

Power Systems will continue to use engines based on Daimler Truck technology to power rail and military land vehicles, as well as for power generation.
