BASF: new manufacturing process for baby products

(CercleFinance.com) - Feeding bottles for the Thyseed brand of baby food and care products are now made from Ultrason®, BASF's high-performance thermoplastic.


Feeding bottles for babies and toddlers benefit from BASF's Ultrason® P 3010 polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) in a number of ways: it is approved for food contact and offers excellent mechanical strength, chemical resistance and resistance to superheated steam at 134°C.

These properties ensure that the bottles are safe to use, yet lightweight and unbreakable. They easily withstand the high temperatures of dishwashers and microwave ovens, and can therefore be reused several times without losing their excellent mechanical properties or optical appearance.

Thyseed and BASF are entering into a strategic cooperation to explore the use of Ultrason® in other baby food products in China and elsewhere.
