Mersen: acquires GMI Group in US

(CercleFinance.com) - Mersen announces the acquisition of GMI Group (Graphite Machining Inc), an expert in the purification and machining of graphite and carbon composites, which will contribute around $40m to sales (on an annual basis).


This acquisition will enable Mersen to increase its machining capacities for graphite and insulation felts in the US, and to reinforce its leading positions in certain markets such as aeronautics, process industries and energy.

It represents a cash outflow of around $50m for the French group, but will be accretive to its net income. It will be consolidated in Mersen's accounts from 1 July.
