T-Mobile: acquires UScellular's wireless business
(CercleFinance.com) - T-Mobile reports an agreement to acquire substantially all of UScellular's wireless business, including customers and shops, as well as certain specified spectrum assets, for approximately $4.
4bn.
Upon closing, T-Mobile's 5G network will expand to provide millions of UScell customers, particularly those in underserved rural areas, with a superior connectivity experience, the telco says.
It expects the transaction to generate around $1bn in annual operating and capital cost synergies, with the total cost of the integration currently estimated at between $2.2bn and $2.6bn.
It would be financed through a combination of cash and the assumption of up to $2bn of debt. Subject to customary conditions and certain regulatory approvals, it is expected to be completed by mid-2025.
