Nokia: modules meet 'Buy America' standard
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia today announced that its electronic and optical modules for fiber-optic broadband networks manufactured in the United States have met the Department of Commerce's 'Buy America' guidelines.
As a 'Buy America' compliant supplier, Nokia believes it is now 'one of the few groups able to provide products and services for broadband infrastructure projects focused on bridging the digital divide'.
By complying with the final NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration) guidelines, Nokia will be able to fully support states planning to launch Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) projects in 2024.
The first Nokia products manufactured in the USA to meet 'Buy America' standards could be delivered in June 2024, the Finnish firm warns.
