Spie: 'green' brickworks project in Germany
(CercleFinance.com) - Spie announced on Tuesday that it would support the installation of an energy infrastructure in Germany for the production of fossil-fuel-free bricks.
The engineering group has been selected by a brickworks wishing to gradually replace natural gas with green hydrogen to supply its energy-intensive kiln.
The green hydrogen will be produced in a 10-megawatt (MW) electrolyzer, mainly powered by renewable energy obtained by the company on site through photovoltaic panels and wind turbines.
Spie specifies that it has been commissioned to design a circuit and systems to supply the energy produced by the photovoltaic installations.
Work began in August 2022 and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2024.
