Ericsson: to create APIs network with Deutsche Telekom

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson today announced a key step in the company's strategy to create a global network platform business with network APIs.


Ericsson and Deutsche Telekom (DT) are launching a commercial partnership to offer communication and network APIs to developers and enterprises.

This will enable developers and enterprises to integrate network functionality into their applications, accelerating the digitisation of businesses and creating new ways for operators to monetise their network investments.

Telecoms research and advisory firm STL Partners predicts that the revenue opportunities created by mobile network APIs will reach over $20bn by 2028, which will be directly exploitable by Ericsson's platform business.

Ericsson said that with Network APIs, developers and enterprises gain easy access to advanced network capabilities to develop entirely new use cases. By creating a global business platform, Ericsson is redefining the industry and creating new ways to innovate via the network.
