Ericsson: to receive R&D funding
(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson is to establish the first technological developments in 6G radio microelectronics.
The group is set to receive five-year funding from the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action for its European Microelectronics and Communications Technology for 6G (EMCT) project. This project aims to support progress in semiconductor technology and lay the foundations for the development of energy-efficient and sustainable microelectronics and communications technologies for 6G Massive MIMO radios, in collaboration with European partners. The initiative has been jointly prepared by 14 EU member states, and will provide up to E8.1bn in public funding to support R&D projects across the entire microelectronics and communications technology ecosystem.
