Antin: takeover bid for Spanish company Opdenergy
(CercleFinance.com) - Antin Infrastructure Partners announced on Monday that it is launching a takeover bid for Opdenergy, a Spanish renewable energy producer, with the intention of delisting the company.
The investment fund, which specialises in infrastructure, says it plans to offer E5.85 per share, a 46% premium over Friday's closing price. Antin explains that the acquisition will enable it to expand its strategic portfolio of investments in the renewable energy sector in Europe and North America. In a statement, the group says that the transaction also reflects its desire to become a "champion" in energy transition. Opdenergy, which went public last year and develops, builds and operates renewable energy projects, is mainly present in the Spanish, American, Chilean, Italian and Mexican markets.
