Microsoft: agrees to acquire Nuance
(CercleFinance.com) - Microsoft has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Nuance Communications for 56 dollars per share, representing a 23% premium over Friday's closing price, in a deal worth 19.
7 billion dollars, including net debt.
It said that the "Acquisition will combine solutions and expertise to deliver new cloud and AI capabilities across healthcare and other industries," noting that Nuance solutions are used in the majority (77%) of US hospitals.
The deal, which is expected to close by the end of this year, is subject to approval by Nuance's shareholders, the obtaining of certain regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
