Merck: new indication for keytruda
(CercleFinance.com) - Merck announced today that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Keytruda for the treatment of patients with certain metastatic carcinomas of the esophagus or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ).
The approval is based on the results of a Phase 3 study that showed a significant improvement in overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS) and objective response rate (ORR) of Keytruda, in combination with fluorouracil and cisplatin, compared to treatment with fluorouracil and cisplatin alone.
