Intel: launches 15 billion dollar additional share buyback
(CercleFinance.com) - Semiconductor giant Intel said on Tuesday that it will repurchase more of its shares, worth up to 15 billion dollars, increasing the size of an existing buyback program.
Intel had 4.7 billion dollars remaining under its existing repurchase authorisation as of 29 September.
The Santa Clara-based chipmaker, which has returned approximately 177 billion dollars to shareholders through dividends and stock repurchases since 1990, currently has a market capitalisation of 220 billion dollars.
