GE: to supply medical equipment to Australia's GenesisCare

(CercleFinance.com) - GE said on Monday that it will supply health material such as digital mammography and ultrasound equipment to GenesisCare, Australia's biggest provider of radiation oncology treatment and cardiovascular care.

The deal is worth over 130 million dollars over the next five years, GE's healthcare unit said, and includes imaging technologies, digital solutions, clinical education and services.

GenesisCare - which recently acquired major US integrated cancer care provider 21st Century Oncology - has over 440 cancer and cardiovascular disease treatment centers across Australia, the US, the UK, and Spain.

It has more than 5,000 doctors and specialists and treats 400,000 patients each year.

THe GE share jumped over 8% after this announcement in a stockmarket that was driven by healthcare stocks following the good results of Pfizer's experimental Covid-19 vaccine.
