(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Ford announced a 73.
3% jump in sales in China in the first quarter, to 153,822 vehicles, representing the fourth consecutive quarter of sales growth in the country.

The US carmaker said that it outperformed the Chinese market as a whole over the first three months of the year, in particular thanks to doubling its SUV sales.

The group also mentioned the strong demand for its locally produced upmarket SUV, the Lincoln Corsair, whose sales increased 11-fold year-on-year.

Ford recently refreshed its vehicle range in China with the launch of new versions of the Explorer, Edge and Escape, as well as a new model of the Lincoln Aviator.
