Facebook: 100m dollar investment to support news industry
(CercleFinance.com) - Facebook has announced a 100 million dollar investment to support the news industry, which "is working under extraordinary conditions to keep people informed during the COVID-19 pandemic".
This sum includes 25 million dollars emergency funding for local news via the Facebook Journalism Project, and 75 million dollars in marketing "to move money over to news organizations around the world," at a time when their advertising revenues are falling.
