Alphabet: Google intends to appeal against EU fine

The Commission said the US online giant had imposed restrictions on Android device manufacturers and network operators to ensure that traffic on Android devices goes to the Google search engine, which is illegal under EU antitrust rules.
Google said in a statement on its blog that its Android operating system has created "more choice, not less".
"The Commission's Android decision ignores the new breadth of choice and clear evidence about how people use their phones today," Google said, adding that a typical Android phone user installs around 50 apps on average.
