AMD: New Street Research recommends investors sell stock
(CercleFinance.com) - New Street Research has initiated its coverage of semiconductor company AMD with a "sell rating" and a target price of 18 dollars, saying that the chipmaker is in a tough position when competing with Intel.
"AMD did extremely well in recent years, and regaining commercial momentum, back up from near-death experience," the independent research house wrote in a note.
But AMD cannot win over the long term, it warned.
"We expect signs of slowdown or indications of a competitive response by Intel to materialize by the end of 2019, and potentially much earlier," New Street Research said.
