Ericsson: chosen by Britain's O2 to deploy 5G network
(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson has said that it has been selected by O2 to deploy 5G hardware, software and service upgrades in the West of the UK, further expanding the coverage of the British mobile operator O2 in the country.
The Swedish company has said that it will upgrade O2's existing 2G/3G/4G sites as part of the telecoms firm's network modernization program.
As O2 launched its 5G commercial network in October last year, Ericsson said it will continue to support the operator with the rollout of commercial 5G in other cities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
