SES: contract with US Air Force Agency
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday the satellite operator SES announced the signing of a contract with the research laboratory of the US Air Force.
Under the terms of the agreement, SES and its British partner Isotropic Systems will conduct a series of tests on behalf of the US Army around next-generation multi-beam antennae on several orbital positions.
The contract comes at a time when the US Department of Defense, the world's largest user of satellite capacity, is exploring new technologies to optimise its fleet in medium (MEO), low (LEO) and geostationary (GEO) orbits, SES says.
A first phase of tests should be finalised by the autumn, before a second phase of tests is carried out in early 2021.
This is the first joint contract between SES and Isotropic.
