Eni: acquires exploration area onshore Alaska
(CercleFinance.com) - Italian energy group Eni has agreed to acquire 124 exploration leases representing a total of approximately 350,000 acres onshore in Alaska from Caelus Alaska, the company said on Wednesday.
Eni said it plans to apply its business model and fast-track exploration, with a short time to market for the potential new discoveries.
The company already operates 11 oil and gas fields in the United States, with a net daily production of approximately 60,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).
Eni currently holds 109 leases in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska.
