Accenture: acquires Green Domus in sustainability
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Accenture announced that its intends to acquire Green Domus, a Brazilian consultancy specialising in sustainable development, for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2005, Green Domus helps companies implement their sustainability strategies, in particular through its expertise in the so-called Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi), the current reference standard for assessing strategies to reduce CO2 emissions in line with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
Accenture explains that this acquisition will enable it to strengthen its expertise in this field, particularly following the recent adoption in Europe of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which aims to discourage EU companies from moving their production to countries with more flexible climate change policies.
The consulting giant says that only 7% of multinationals currently say they are well on the way to achieving their target of becoming net zero by 2050.
