Vodafone: seals wholesale deal with Telefonica in Germany
(CercleFinance.com) - Vodafone has entered into a cable wholesale agreement with Telefonica Deutschland, enabling the latter to offer high-speed broadband services to its cable clients in Germany.
Under the terms of the deal, Telefonica Deutschland will market its broadband services over the combined Vodafone and Unitymedia cable network in Germany, which covers 23.7 million households.
Vodafone said the deal is subject to the completion of the acquisition of Liberty Global's operations in Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, which depends on European Commission approval.
Vodafone said that it now expects the European Commission to adopt its decision on Vodafone's acquisition of Liberty Global's operations by the month of July, which is set to be completed this summer.
