Eutelsat: wins contract in Brazil
(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat has announced signing a multi-year contract with TV TEM, a subsidiary of TV Globo, for available capacity on the Eutelsat 65 West A satellite to transmit its programmes over its concession area in the State of São Paulo.
This partnership has enabled TV TEM to migrate its signals from the conventional C-band (3.7 GHz to 4.2 GHz) to the planned C-band (4.5 GHz to 4.8 GHz), freeing up the conventional C-band frequencies for the deployment of 5G in Brazil.
"TV TEM has the widest coverage area in the State of São Paulo with 318 municipalities within a region of 8.3 million inhabitants, around 49% of the population of the upstate of São Paulo State," the satellite operator said.
