BNP Paribas: EU clears JV with Matexi
(CercleFinance.com) - Under EU Merger Regulations the European Commission has approved the creation of R2O, a joint venture between BNP Paribas Fortis and Matexi NV/SA, both of which are based in Belgium.
R2O will offer residential real estate services in Belgium. In particular, it will rent properties to private individuals with an option to buy, with tenants having the possibility to buy the property after renting it for several years.
Matexi develops residential real estate projects and, to a lesser extent, commercial real estate projects, such as retail and office space.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns given its limited impact on the market structure.
