Vinci: passenger numbers slump 82.4% from Q1 2019 to Q1 2021

(CercleFinance.com) - The network of airports managed by VINCI Airports welcomed just over 10 million passengers in the Q1 2021, down 82.
4% relative to Q1 2019.

The month of March saw same trend continue, with a decrease in traffic of 82.7% (compared to March 2019).

Traffic remains dogged by the ongoing pandemic in many regions. Air traffic slowed sharply in the first quarter in Europe, due to the worsening of the COVID-19 crisis.

Traffic is even worse hit in the United Kingdom and Portugal, where very strict restrictions were introduced at the national level from January, than in France or Serbia where the measures were less strict or more targeted.

After a fairly encouraging start to the year, traffic in South America seems to be falling again in Brazil and Chile, with a new wave of the Covid crisis.
