Essilor: organic growth reaches 5% in Q3
(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday Essilor International published - for the last time separate to Luxottica - quarterly sales figures.
Remember that the finalisation of the mega-merger that gave birth to EssilorLuxottica was announced on 1 October.
Over the third quarter of 2018 (from July to September), the French ophthalmic optics group recorded organic sales growth (on an homogeneous basis, according to Essilor) of 5%, compared with 4% in H1. As a result, the rate reached 4.3% over the first nine months of 2018, with the annual target of around 4% being confirmed.
On a like-for-like basis, and in North America (37.5% of business), growth rose from 4% in H1 to 5.8% in Q3. In Europe, according to the same sequence this growth rose from 0.9% to 1.4% and also accelerated in emerging regions, as well as in the Sunglasses & Readers division.
