Thales: pens contract with French Defense
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space and Thales have signed a concept study contract for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) applications with the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA).
This contract aims to study the contribution of persistent stratospheric platforms to improve and expand France's defense capabilities.
"The aim of this contract is to assess the relevance of Stratobus type continuous stratospheric solutions," Thales said.
Thales Alenia Space's Stratobus is an autonomous stratospheric airship in the HAPS [High Altitude Platform System] category, operating from an altitude of 20 kilometres.
