AXA: acquisition of XL Group finalised on 12 September
(CercleFinance.com) - AXA announces that all the regulatory authorisations required for the acquisition of XL Group Ltd have been obtained.
The deal is set to be completed on 12 September, pending the satisfaction of the remaining customary closure conditions.
For the record, in early March the group reported an agreement to takeover this P&C insurance and reinsurance group for companies, for a total of 15.3 billion dollars, paid in cash.
AXA then explained that the acquisition of XL Group would enable it to move more towards products with "technical" margins, which are less sensitive to changes in the financial markets.
